Na, habt ihr euch den neuen Release bei Purple Onion Designs schon ausgiebig zu Gemüte geführt? Hach, ich kann mich ja gar nicht satt sehen an all den süßen Crittern und den wunderbaren Zubehörstempeln. Ich wünschte, ich hätte sie mir alle in den Einkaufswagen packen können, aber manchmal muss man sich einfach zügeln. Ein bisschen was Neues habe ich heute aber noch für euch. Auf meiner heutigen Karte tanzt zum Beispiel die lustige Eule "Lilly" auf einem tollen neuen Sentiment, "celebrate like crazy", dass sich perfekt für Geburtstagskarten eignet. Begleitet wird sie dabei von zwei niedlichen "Garden Bugs", Sprout und Honey.

I must admit that I just can't get enough of all the cute little critters and the beautiful whimsical accessory stamps in this collection. I whish I could have placed them all into my cart but sometimes you simply have to constrain yourself. Still, I do of course have something new to show you today. The happy little owl "Lilly" for example who's dancing on the bold new sentiment "celebrate like crazy", which is just perfect for birthday cards. On this card she's being accompanied by two tiny "Garden Bugs", Sprout and Honey.

Koloriert habe ich alle Motive mit Buntstiften auf Kraft Cardstock. Um dem Schriftzug intensiv zum Leuchten zu bringen, habe ich ihn zuerst mit "Unicorn Ink", weißer, stark deckender Pigmenttinte von Hero Arts aufgestempelt. Dadurch erhalte ich eine helle Basis auf der die Farben besonders gut strahlen. Zusätzliche Tiefe erhalten die einzelnen Buchstaben dadurch, dass ich sie an mehreren Stellen gegenüber dem Grundfarbton mit ein bis zwei dunkleren Farbtönen schattiert habe. Verwendet habe ich dafür Polychromos-Farbstifte, die sich aufgrund ihres großen Farbspekturms besonders gut für einen solchen Regenbogeneffekt eignen.
I've colored all images with colored pencils on kraft cardstock. To let the sentiment look especially vibrant I first stamped it down with "Unicorn Ink" opaque white pigment ink by Hero Arts. This provides me with a light base on which the colors shine particularly bright. To add more depth I also shaded the letters in some areas in one or two deeper tones than my base color. For all this I used Polychromos pencils. Their huge color range makes them ideal for such a rainbow effect.

Die Critter wiederum habe ich vornehmlich mit Luminance-Stiften koloriert. Diese haben zwar einen geringeren Farbumfang als die Polychromos, dafür lassen sie sich noch weicher verblenden und sind auf dunkelen Malgründen noch strahlender, was dafür sorgt, dass die eher in Naturtönen gehaltenen Critter nicht hinter dem knalligen Schriftzug zurücktreten müssen. Nur bei der Eule habe ich an den dunkelsten Stellen noch ein wenig mit Polychromos nachgeholfen, weil diese etwas härter sind als die Luminance und sich damit für feine Details wie die hier angedeutete Gefiederzeichnung, besser eignen.
The critters on the other hand were mainly colored with Luminance pencils. These come in less colors than the Polychromos, but they are even softer, they blend more deasily and are a bit more vibrant on darker surfaces, which ensures that the critters that were mainly colored in natrual tones, don't have to stand back behind the colorful sentiment. Only on the darkest parts of the owl I used Polychromos again because details such as those on the owl's plumage can be more easily obtained with their their slightly harder lead.
