Das Wetter ist hier bei uns in Deutschland in diesem Jahr so mies, dass einem eigentlich nur zwei Dinge einfallen, damit klarzukommen: Entweder man reist den ganzen Sommer über in wärmere Gefilde, oder - und das ist mein Tipp für all diejenigen, die sich das ebenso wenig leisten können wie ich - man träumt sich einfach in den Dauerurlaub. Und bastelt dabei vielleicht nebenbei ein paar sommerliche Urlaubskarten.
The weather in Germany is so lousy this summer that I can only think of two things left to do to deal with it. Either you relocate to warmer areas for the whole summer months or - if just like myself you cannot afford to do so – you just dream yourself away into permanet vacations. If doing the latter you might as well create some summer vacation cards just like the one I did today.

Diesmal habe ich mich mal an einer Reisekarte im Vintage-Stil versucht, wobei ich mir bei dem Endergebnis nicht ganz sicher bin. Grundsätzlich gefällt mir das Farbschema zwar ganz gut, aber die knallbunten Farben, die ich sonst immer verwende, finde ich letztlich doch besser. Daher werden Karten wie diese bei mir wohl eher die Ausnahme bleiben.
This time I had a try at a vintage style vacation card, though I'm not really sure what to think about the result. Generally I really like the color scheme I used here, however I still prefer the bright rainbow colors I usually turn to. That why cards like these will probably remain an exception on this blog.

Begeistert haben mich bei der Arbeit an dieser Karte besonders die Oxide Inks. Die habe ich hier nämlich zum ersten Mal zum Stempeln verwendet (für die Motive im Hintergrund). Und wie man sieht kann man feine, detailreiche Linien damit wirklich gut abbilden.
What's really delighted me when working on this card are the Oxide Inks. For the very first time I used for stamping (for the images in the background) and as you can see they really provide for crisp and detailed images.
