Es ist wieder soweit! Zwei Wochen sind um und es wird Zeit für eine neue Herausforderung auf dem Stempelküche-Challengeblog. Diesmal haben wir wieder eine Farbvorgabe für euch.
Yes, it's true. Another two weeks have passed and it's time again for a new challenge at the Stempelküche challenge blog. This time we're trying to challenge you with a color scheme.

So auf Anhieb hat mich diese Farbkombination gar nicht angesprochen. Sie steckt irgendwo zwischen Herbst, Halloween und Winter, habt von allem etwas, passt aber in kein Schema so richtig rein. Ich hab mir dann einfach meine Kuretake-Aquarellfarben geschnappt und mit den vorgegebenen Farben drauflosgemalt. Als ich den Hintergrund sah, der dabei herausgekommen ist, dachte ich sofort an Nordlichter, also habe ich eine Winterkarte gewerkelt. (Ich habe übrigens wirklich nur die vorgegebenen Farben verwendet, auch wenn der untere Bereich auf den Fotos irgendwie Gelb aussieht.)
To be honest, at first I wasn't at all inspired by those colors. They are stuck somewhere in between autumn, Halloween and winter; they have a bit of everything but are at the same time no good fit for any one of those seasons. So to start off, I took out my Kuretake watercolors and painted a simple background in the given colors. (Though on the photos it might look slightly yellowish at the bottom I really only used the colors shown in the scheme above.) This background reminded me of polar lights so I created a winter / Christmas card.

Die Pinguine wollte ich ursprünglich schwarz-weiß belassen. Aber mit weißem Schnabel und weißen Füßen sahen sie irgendwie komisch aus. Also habe ich die Copics gezückt und schnell etwas Orange zugefügt - blöd nur, wenn man vorher mit Versafine gestempelt hat, das ist nämlich nicht copic-fest. Also musste ich tierisch aufpassen, nicht die ganze Tinte zu verwischen. Als das geklappt hat, war ich so froh, dass ich mich dazu habe hinreißen lassen, auch die kleinen Bäuchleins noch ein bisschen einzufärben. Das sieht immer so süß aus finde ich. Der aktuellen Farbvorgabe entspricht das allerdings nicht wirklich. Leider ist mir das erst aufgegangen, als ich die Tierchen schon festgeklebt hatte. Aber na ja, sei's drum, ich will nicht päpstlicher sein als der Papst. Ich denke, man kann das aktuelle Farbschema schon irgendwie erkennen. Und wen's stört, der denkt sich das Gelb einfach weg. ;o)
Initially I wanted the penguins to remain black and white. They did however look a bit strange with white beaks and feet. So I took out my Copics and painted them orange - not an altogether brilliant idea after having stamped with Versafine though. Versafine is not Copic-proof so I had to be very careful not to smudge anything. That having turned out real well I got carried away a bit and also colored in their tiny tummies because I think this always looks so cute. That, however, doesn't at all fit in with our current color scheme. Unfortunately, I only realized this after having glued the two cuties to my card. But then, so be it, let's not be more Catholic than the Pope. I think you can still make out the current color scheme somehow. And if the yellow bothers you just imagine the card without it. ;o)
