Ein paar Jahre lang lag ein kleines Set Acrylmarker in meinem Regal. Ich hatte sie mir ursprünglich fürs Art Journaling zugelegt, bin mit dem Medium aber nie richtig warm geworden. Letzten Sommer habe ich die Marker dann noch einmal aus einem neuen Blickwinkel unter die Lupe genommen, nicht als Hilfsmittel für Mixed-Media-Projekte, sondern als eigenständige Kolorationsmedien - mit dem Ergebnis, dass aus dem kleinen Set inzwischen eine recht große Sammlung geworden ist. Hier seht ihr einige meiner Acryl-Marker-Bilder, die seither entstanden sind.
For a few years I had a small set of arylic markers lying on my shelf. Originally, I had purchased them to use for my art journaling but for several reasons they never really appealed to me so they kept on collecting dust on my shelf. However, last summer I decited to give them another chance and instead of using them as one of many tools for a mixed media project I treated them as stand-alone coloring media. As a result, my originally small set of markers has now grown into a rather large collection. Today, I'm sharing a few acrylic marker sketches I made throughout the last months.

Für das erste Bild habe ich schwarzen Fotokarton als Malgrund verwendet, die beiden darauf folgenden Bilder sind in einem Aquarellskizzenbuch von Hahnemühle entstanden. Beides hat bei mir hervorragend funktioniert. V.a. das Hahnemühle-Buch ist meiner Meinung nach hervorragend mit den Markern zurechtgekommen. Die nächste Skizze stammt aus einem Aquarellbuch von AMI, das ich für Acrylmarker hingegen überhaupt nicht empfehlen kann.
For my first painting I used black cardstock to paint on, the next two sketches were done in a watercolor sketchbook by Hahnemühle. Both painting surfaces did a great job with the markers. I'm especially pleased with their performance in the sketchbook. Unfortunately, this can't be said for the watercolor sketchbook by AMI, which I used for my next sketch. The paper in this book could not cope with the markers at all.

Bei näherem Hinsehen kann man gut erkennen, wie sich das Papier unter der mechanischen Beanspruchung der Filzspitzen auflöst - und das, obwohl ich beim Ausmalen sehr vorsichtig gewesen bin. Allerdings ist das Papier auch für Aquarellfarben nicht die beste Wahl (die Farben trocknen darauf zu schnell und zu fleckig), und Maskierflüssigkeit und Masking Tape lassen sich auch nicht rückstandslos davon entfernen. Insofern kann ich es dieses Skizzenbuch grundsätzlich nicht weiterempfehlen.
In the close up you can see how the paper was rubbed off when the markers' felt tipps moved across - even though I was very careful throughout the painting process. Yet, the paper is not the best choice for watercolors either (the paints dry too fast and too blotchy on it), and it is also easily damaged by masking fluid and masking tape. Thus, I wouldn't recommand it for any kind of painting or sketching anyway.
