Worüber ich mich heute allerdings am meisten freue ist, endlich verraten zu können, dass ich die große Ehre habe, dauerhaft ins Design Team von Purple Onion Designs aufgenommen worden zu sein. Ihr werdet hier künftig also sicher noch mehr Projekte mit den tollen Stempeln aus dem Shop sehen, und ich hoffe, ihr freut euch darüber ebenso sehr wie ich.
What I'm particularly happy about today, however, is the fact that I can finally reveal that I have the honour and the pleasure to permanently join the design team at Purple Onion Designs. Nun aber zu meiner heutigen Karte. Hierfür habe ich zum ersten Mal nicht nur die Motive im Vordergrund, sondern auch den Hintergrund komplett mit Copics koloriert. Wie wahrscheinlich viele von euch habe ich diese Technik zum ersten Mal bei Sandy Allnock bewundert und wollte sie unbedingt einmal selbst ausprobieren. Ganz zufrieden bin ich mit dem Ergebnis allerdings nicht. Die Farbe ist zwar schön intensiv, wirkt aber auch immer ein bisschen streifig. Mit Distress Inks und einem Schwämmchen gelingen mir zumindest schönere Farbaufträge. Vielleicht muss ich aber auch nur noch ein bisschen üben.
But now to today's card. For the first time I have not only colored the foreground images with Copics, but also the complete background. As probably most of you did I first learned about this technique from Sandy Allnock, who's a true genius when it comes to Copic coloring. And I had wanted to try it myself for quite some time. I am, however, not too happy with the outcome. The color is wonderfully intense but it's also quite streaky. Personally, I'm archiving smoother blends when applying Distress Inks with a sponge. But perhaps I only need more practice.

Wer genau hinguckt, sieht vielleicht auch, dass ich auf der Karte ein bisschen geschummelt habe. Als ich gerade fertig war und noch ein paar letzte Details verbessern wollte, ist mir ein roter Copic-Marker auf das Bild gefallen, mitten auf das Gesicht von Forrest. Ich hätte heulen können und stand kurz davor, die Karte in den Müll zu werfen. Allerdings hatte ich keinen Elan mehr, noch mal von vorn anzufangen, und irgendeine Karte brauchte ich ja für die Eröffnung des Sales. Also habe ich kurzerhand nur den kleinen Igel noch einmal neu koloriert, ihn dann ausgeschnitten und mein Malheur überklebt. So konnte ich die Karte zumindest noch halb retten.
If you're taking a closer look at my card you might see that I even cheated a bit on today's project. When I had just finished coloring and only wanted to smooth out some more details on my image I dropped a red Copic marker and it fell straight down onto the face of cute "Forrest". I could have cried and almost threw my image away. But then I didn't have the drive to start all over again and I also needed a card to go with my sale and DT announcement. So I just stamped and colored the little hedgehog again, fuzzy cut him and glued over my mishap. That way I could at least semi-safe my card.
