Na, habt ihr mich vermisst? Bei uns wurden letzte Woche neue Türen eingebaut, das ganze Heim stand Kopf, überall nur Dreck, Staub und Durcheinander, sodass ich leider nicht zum Basteln gekommen bin. Aber so langsam sieht es wieder etwas besser aus und ich habe auch wieder ein paar Kärtchen gewerkelt.

Zu den Karten, die ich euch heute zeige, hat mich die wunderbare Kelly Latevola mit diesem Aquarellprojekt inspiriert. Ich bin absolut fasziniert davon wie zart und zugleich kräftig die Farben bei ihr aussehen und wollte so etwas unbedingt selbst erreichen, was mir leider nicht ganz gelungen ist. Mit der Koloration selbst bin ich zwar zufrieden, nur die Farbbrillanz wollte nicht ganz so wie ich wollte. Womöglich liegt es an der Kombination aus Farben und Papier, die ich verwendet habe, aber wirklich auf den Grund gekommen bin ich dem Problem noch nicht.
For today's cards I've been inspired by this watercolor project by lovely Kelly Latevola. I'm totally fascinated by how soft and brilliant her colors look at the same time and absolutely wanted to create something similar. Unfortunately, I did not quite succeed. Though I do love the coloring I'm not satisfied with the brilliance of the colors. They look a bit too dull for my taste. Probably that's because of the combination of paints and paper I used, however, I haven't yet really gotten to the bottom of the problem.

Die Blumenmotive, die ich verwendet habe, stammen von WPlus9. Um den No-Line-Effekt zu erzielen, habe ich sie mit "Antique Linen" Distress Ink gestempelt. Dies ist ein sehr heller Farbton, und wie alle Distress Inks löst er sich bei der Berührung mit Wasser etwas an, sodass die Konturlinien nach dem Kolorieren fast völlig unsichtbar sind. Zum Kolorieren selbst habe ich klassische Aquarellfarben verwendet, und nach dem Trocknen noch ein paar Akzente mit Aquarellstiften gesetzt, um mehr Tiefe zu erzielen. Den Grußtext habe ich jeweils mit Versafine gestempelt. Er stammt aus einem Textset von Create A Smile Stamps.
The floral stamps I've used are by WPlus9. I stamped them with "Antique Linen" Distress Ink to achive a no-line effect. Antique Linen is a very light beige color, and as all Distress Inks it disolves when it comes into contact with water so that the outlines become almost invisible when the coloring is done. For the coloring itself I used traditional watercolors and after they dried I emphasized the shadow areas with watercolor pencils to achive some more depth. I used Versafine ink to stamp the greeting, which is from a German sentiment set by Create A Smile Stamps and reads "for you".
