Guest Designing for Create A Smile Stamps Challenge

Heute habe ich die Ehre, als Gastdesignerin bei der Challenge von Create A Smile Stamps dabeizusein. Das Thema der Challenge lautet "emboss resist", und ich habe nicht nur eine, sodern gleich zwei Karten zu dem Thema gemacht. Die erste davon sieht so aus:
Today I'm honored to be guest designing for the current challenge at Create A Smile Stamps. Their theme for the next fortnight is "emboss resist" and did not only make one but two cards to inspire you. The first one looks like this:




Für meine beiden Karten habe ich zuächst die Blätterranke "Clustered Leaves" mehrere Male mit Versamark auf ein DIN-A6-großes Stück weißen Cardstock gestempelt und mit transparentem Prägepulver embossed. Das embossted Papier habe ich anschließend Distress Inks (Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss) gewischt. Hinter den Stellen, die zuvor embossed wurden, scheint die ursprüngliche Papierfarbe durch - das ist es, was mit dem Begriff emboss resist gemeint ist – , was in meinem Fall dazu führt, dass sich die Blätter strahlend weiß vom Hintergrund abheben.
For both of my cards I started by stamping the leafy vine stamp "Clustered Leaves" several times with Versamark onto a Din A6 sized piece of cardstock. After that I embossed the image with clear embossing powder and sponged it with Distress Inks (Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss). Through the previously embossed spots the original paper color shows - which is what is meant by emboss resist –, therefore in my case the leaves stand out bright white against the green background.


Auf meiner ersten Karte habe ich das Blattmuster in den Hintergrund gelegt, nur ein Ausschnitt davon ist durch einen kreisrunden Fensterausschnitt zu sehen.
On my first card I placed the leaves pattern in the background; you can only see a section of it through a circle window.


Für meine zweite Karte habe ich das Blattmuster mit zwei der Postage Edge Circles Dies von Create A Smile Stamps ausgestanzt und auf einen Kartenrohling auf Kraft-Cardstock platziert. Um eine harmonische Verbindung zwischen Hintergrund und Vordergrund zu schaffen, habe ich ein dünnes weißes Rähmchen um die Karte gelegt, welches das Weiß der Blätter wieder aufnimmt.
For my second card I die cut the leaves pattern with two of Create A Smile Stamps' Postage Edge Circle dies and arranged them on a kraft card base. To tie a knot between fore- and background I added a small white frame around the card which picks up the color of the leaves.
