Heute habe ich ausnahmsweise mal nicht nur eine, sondern gleich zwei Karten für euch. Was die beiden thematisch verbindet ist, dass es sich jeweils um Geburtstagskarten handelt und ich für beide ein Spektralfarbschema ausgewählt habe. Vor allem aber stammt der Großteil der von mir hier verwendeten Materialien von ein paar sehr großzügigen Herstellern, die das Klostertreffen gesponsert haben, bei dem ich am vorletzten Wochenende dabei sein durfte.
Today I don't have one but two cards to share with you for a change. Linking them thematically is the fact that they're both birthday cards and that I chose the rainbow as a color scheme for both of them. Above all, though, they're mainly made with supplies that have been kindly given to us by companies who sponsored the fun crafty retreat at the convent I had the pleasure to attend the weekend before last.

Für meine erste Karte habe ich die tolle "Hooray"-Stanze von Neat & Tangled verwendet. Ich habe sie einmal aus einem mit Distress Inks in Regenbogenfarben gewischtem Papier ausgestanzt und ein zweites Mal aus wunderschönem Recycling-Cardstock, den die liebe Christiane zum Klostertreffen mitgebracht hatte. Die verschiedenen Stanzteile habe ich schließlich zu einem neuen Design zusammengesetzt, auf meine Kartenbasis geklebt, mit einem passenden Grußtext versehen und mit ein paar Pailletten aufgehübscht.
For my first card I used the great "Hooray" die by Neat & Tangled. I cut it once from paper I had previously sponged with Distress Inks in rainbow colors and a second time from beautiful recycling cardstock Christiane brought with her to the convent. I then puzzled the different die-cuts together to obtain a new design. I stuck all elements together on my card base, added a suitable greeting and decorated the front with a few sequins.

Auf meiner zweiten Karte habe ich mit dem "TEAriffic"-Set von Jane's Doodles gearbeitet. Die Motive habe ich mit Peerless Watercolors koloriert und - inspiriert von der lieben Francine Vuillème, die so etwas öfter macht - auf einem gestanzten Tischtuch platziert. Für das leichte Embossing im Hintergrund habe ich ein Stencil von Create A Smile Stamps verwendet, das mit seinem schönen Retro-Design wunderbar zu dem psychedelischen Farbenspiel meiner Motive passt. Irgendwie muss ich bei dem Motiv ständig and Cat Stevens'Tea for the Tillerman denken, die Farben und das Design passen einfach perfekt in die 70er. Daher ist meine Karte sicher ein guter Beitrag zur aktuellen Montagschallenge bei Simon Says Stamps, wo es darum geht, sich von einem Lied inspirieren zu lassen.
On my second card I worked with Jane's Doodles "TEAriffic" set. I colored the images with Peerles watercolors and put them onto a die-cut table cloth - which is totally inspired by Francine Vuillème. For the subtle embossing in the back I used a new stencil by Create A Smile Stamps. It's retro design is a perfect fit to the psychedelic color scheme of my images, I think. Somehow this scene always makes me think of Cat Stevens'Tea for the Tillerman, the colors and the design perfectly fit the 70s. So I suppose it's a good contribution to Simon Says Stamps' current Monday Challenge, where they want us to be inspired by a song.
